Real Estate Promotions You’re Not Doing, But Should

promotion_handshake.jpgReal estate is one of the most competitive industries to be in. You are constantly competing with other agents to gain new clients and competing to make a name for yourself. It is so easy to stay in your safety net and keep using the marketing techniques that you’ve been doing for years, but sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and try something new. If you want to make it in such a cut-throat business, you’re going to need to step up your real estate promotion game.

Here are 4 promotions that you need to start doing:

Contact past clients

Call your past clients! Your past clients know how you work and they hopefully had a great experience with you, which means that if they are ever looking to buy or sell their next home - you should be their first call. Your current database is a great source for future business. Send mailers about new listings that you have on the market. You can also send birthday/anniversary emails so that you remain at the forefront of your past client’s minds. Real estate is greatly a referral business, which means you can either ask your past clients if they know anyone looking to buy or sell, or you can ask if they are looking to buy or sell again.

Target new markets

If you aren’t getting clients in your current market, switch it up. It’s okay to target another demographic even if you haven’t in the past. In fact, it’s actually beneficial to your business to target multiple demographics. Often times going to a public place and watching interactions among others can help you figure out who your next target market can be. Yes, I realize this sounds strange and borderline creepy, but I can assure you that you won't be the only person people watching in that area… someone may be watching your actions as well ;)

Get out of your office and meet people

If you are looking for a job that requires you to only sit in an office, then you are in the wrong business! Get up out of your chair, leave your office, and go promote yourself as a real estate agent. There are more than 324,386,700 people in the United States. Almost anyone that you come across has the potential to be a client of yours so get out there and mingle!

Public speaking engagements

The more people you are able to engage with, the better your chances are of getting new clients. Your goal as a real estate agent is to successfully promote your real estate business and your brand. What better way to do that than speak to hundreds, if not thousands, of people all at the same time?

In the real estate industry you need to be doing whatever you can to get an edge over your competitors. There is no such this as a safe space anymore. If you aren’t willing to try something new, then you’re in the wrong industry. Try using these real estate promotions and watch your business grow.
