You already know that a strong online presence and a good marketing strategy are key to growing your real estate brand and business – but what else can you do to expand your online presence, improve your website search rankings and gain better overall business visibility? Incorporate video marketing.
Why Video:
- It’s free
- It’s easy
- It helps tremendously with search ranking
Why Video Ranks So Well:
First, you may have noticed that relevant video ranks first in search results, which is awesome. Second, YouTube – a well-known video host – is the second-largest search engine in the world. It’s free to use, easy to set up and is a great platform to use to build your brand visibility. Lastly, YouTube is owned by search giant Google – so by hosting videos on Google’s sister site you increase your odds for better visibility in search results.
Getting Started with Video Marketing
Step 1 - Use tools you already have:
Most of today’s gadgets (phones, tablets, laptops, digital cameras, etc.) come equipped with a perfectly functional video camera. Don’t run to your nearest electronics store and drop hundreds of dollars on a top-of-the-line video camera – use what you’ve already got in your pocket or on your desk."
Step 2 - Keep it simple (and short):
Don’t overthink it – make a list of topics you think would be interesting, helpful or useful to your potential clients, turn on the camera, and start talking. The good news is - if you don’t like the way your recording turns out, you don’t have to use it! Just scrap it and try again.
Unless you’re super comfortable in the spotlight, it will probably take you a few tries to get over the ‘stage fright’ element - but don’t get frustrated! Keep trying until you’re comfortable with the output. If you tend to be overly critical, ask close friends or family members for their feedback to help you get off on the right foot.
Step 3 – Make a List of Video Topic Ideas:
Here are a few to get you started:
-- Introduce yourself and talk about your background and qualifications
-- If you have any sort of niche skillset, discuss it
-- Talk about your city and what makes it great
-- Provide tips for first-time home buyers and sellers
-- Highlight the home improvement projects that you feel have the best return on investment
-- Capture video testimonials from your existing and past clients
