Top real estate agentsAppearance isn't everything, but when it comes to your real estate business, appearance is important - especially online. Creating a trustworthy, relatable brand for your online presence is crucial when your leads are doing all their research online before even speaking to you. Top real estate agents all use "personal branding" to perfect their online image, and make an impact with their online presence. How can you do the same?

“Regardless of age, regardless of position, regardless of the business we happen to be in, all of us need to understand the importance of branding. We are CEOs of our own companies: Me Inc. To be in business today, our most important job is to be head marketer for the brand called You.” - Tom Peters

Your personal brand speaks volumes about who you are, what you know, and if your clients should choose you or not. It should reflect who you are, put your best foot forward, and keep a sense of consistency.

Here’s How Top Real Estate Agents Use Personal Branding:

  1. Be Value-Driven

What do you stand for? What is the most important thing that you want your potential clients to know about you? Start by listing your top three values and top three adjectives you would use to describe yourself as a real estate agent. Creating a mission statement out of these values and adjectives is a trademark of all top real estate agents. Consider using this mission statement on your website, in emails, and incorporate that verbiage into your brand.

  1. Be Relatable

No one wants to hire an ego-maniac. Be careful that as you build your personal brand that you aren't coming off as elitist or "macho". Take special care as you start to use social media - don't buy into the "big boys club" idea of branding. Being relatable means positioning yourself as a professional, but leaving the ego and the 'Wolf of Wall Street' mentality at home. Genuine humility and professionalism can go a long way with potential clients looking up your online presence.
  1. Be Consistent!

As with most things, consistency is key! Consider creating a posting schedule for your social media, start a blog with regular posting, or even a Facebook Live stream at a decided weekly time. Keeping consistent content on your website and social media outlets is a good first impression for real estate leads looking for a professional they can trust.

Paying attention to your personal brand can make all the difference in today's online world! Take a look at real estate agents that you admire, and pick up some queues from how they present themselves online. The top agents have defined, clear core values as their mission statement, they are relatable and leave the egotisical content out of their online persona, and they are consistent with providing useful content to the online researcher. Polish up that online persona, and make a great first impression with your online leads.
