Rhetorical question, did you get into real estate to be mediocre? Or did you do it to build yourself a better future both financially and personally? Of course it’s the latter and of course you want to be the best out there! Without getting onto my soapbox, I can say that success comes to those who are hungry and ambitious enough to make the future their own. But how can you take your desire to succeed and channel it into profitable results?

According to an article published on Inman, there are some key areas to focus on to get yourself from where you are, to where you want to be. You’ve got the dream, let’s explore how to make it a reality:

  1. Writing great descriptions for listings - remember, you’re not just selling a property, you’re selling the idea that this will become your prospects home.

  2. Keeping up with the Jones’s, or whatever your leads last name happens to be - a break in communication can be the death of a potential deal. Stay on top of real estate lead nurturing and when need be, schedule a future follow up.

  3. Make sure your website is good-to-go (on-the-go) - easier said than done, a properly built site can make all the difference. Did you know that mobile optimization is now part of how well you will rank on Google?

  4. Don’t forget to socialize - as we have said before, relationships are key to business success. What better way to build your brand with the quickest expanding demographic?

  5. Establish your voice - your brand is your life and in turn, your sales. Establishing a consistent, coherent voice will help set you apart in the marketplace.

  6. Everyone loves visuals - integrating social media video into your marketing materials is a great way to show off a listing. Don’t just show pictures, give a tour before the tour!

  7. It takes money to make money - while print media can still be effective, it can get lost or thrown away accidentally. Digital media marketing however not only has a longer “shelf life”, but the links can also be shared. So let your prospects do some marketing for you too!

It’s always important to stay on top of your game and ensure that you’re able to make the future work for you. In philosophy, this concept is referred to as existentialism. This means that we are each in charge of our own success and responsible for making our future what we want it to be. In real estate this is referred to as closing deals.
