You know what real estate agents wish they had? LESS BUSINESS OBVIOUSLY. Having a reliable steadystream of income through consistent lead generation is such an obstacle. Sarcasm aside, if you are looking to INCREASE your business, then don't do any of these 5 hacks that will decrease it.
Here are 5 Guaranteed Tricks to Lose at Real Estate
No Follow Up
A great way to lose business is to not follow up. Or maybe if you still want to be a responsive real estate agent, you can instead send your responses more than 24 hours from receiving the original email.
Ignore Social Media
If you are looking to deflect potential business, you can do so by not maintaining your social media accounts. Keeping your feed vacant is a great way to tell real estate leads “I’m no longer in business!”.
Say Yes to Everything
Know when to say “no”, and then ignore your instincts and say yes anyway because you believe that will make them happy. Are they asking for you to cut your commission? Yes! Are they asking you for a service you can’t provide? Yes! What about about property types you have no experience in? Go for it!
Do Everything Yourself
If you believe the best advice you can give to a home seller is to sell the home themselves, then it is also a good idea to do everything else yourself too. Search engine optimization, social media marketing, web development, and graphic design can all be self-taught. It is in your best interest to teach yourself each of these skills to save a little bit of money.
Don't Follow a Schedule
The great part about working as a real estate agent is that you can work whenever you want. Want to do it part-time? Great idea! Or if you are a “go with the flow” type of person, check your email as often as you can so you can drop everything you are doing to take care of client requests as they happen. No need to see your family again!
Obviously everything in this article is satirical. Please don’t follow the advice here, and do the exact opposite. If you are looking for GOOD real estate advice, why not download our free e-book containing the best advice from fellow agents?
