1. Your Generation Doesn’t Matter
You shouldn’t define yourself as a “millennial agent”, because that only places you inside of a box. Instead define yourself by a niche. What kind of agent are you? The best way to stand out from the competition is by proclaiming what you are an expert at.
2. Start Networking
Most new agents will gain their first listing from their sphere of influence. You can continue gaining listings from your sphere if you build, maintain, and start relationships. Networking is a powerful tool when done correctly.
3. Find a Mentor
If you are new to the business, or find yourself in a plateau it would be a good idea to find somebody you can look up to. Or perhaps a team or partner to keep you accountable.
4. Utilize Social Media
Use social media to maintain and build relationships. Facebook groups, Instagram, and YouTube are great platforms to use to spread your brand. If you are already using it to stay in touch with your friends and family, you are already doing something right.
5. Know Your Basics
If you don't learn your history, you will be destined to repeat it. Door knocking and cold calling are essential skills that many agents will avoid. Imagine a few years from now many of the veteran agents will be enjoying their retirement, and there will be a small quantity of agents who know how to doorknock or cold call. This puts you at an advantage if you learn to master these forgotten skills.
